Our mission is to support the arts in Plattsburgh, NY—FOR EVERYONE.

HELLO!

What is a coalition, and who’s making it happen?

“A group of people, groups, or countries who have joined together for a common purpose;

a temporary alliance of distinct parties, persons, or states for joint action.”

This coalition was created by artists, for artists.

We’re a completely volunteer run organization comprised of motivated and determined individuals who are based in and/or are active in the arts in Plattsburgh, New York. We’re working to support our arts community and create sustainable resources for artists who have a connection to our city.

We have so many things we want to accomplish! Check out below for a little bit more information on our current goals. If you’re interested in learning how to become involved, please write us an email at:

Our Goals

Equal Access to Funding

Over the past few years the art scene in Plattsburgh, NY has seen tremendous growth—and we love to see it! With this kind of growth there is also a need to assess access to resources, especially funding opportunities. We are working with our local and state legislators to increase local funding for the arts and make this funding accessible to all.

Support for Artists

We’re developing a fund to provide the following resources for local artists:

  • Grants for project support

  • Scholarships for professional development

Community Development

We’re here to promote the idea of community over competition and to foster collaborations within the arts community.

One of our biggest goals of this coalition is to form a 501(c)(3) arts council. Plattsburgh, NY hasn’t had an arts council since c. 1998!
